“Flashcard” Paintings

The Flashcard Series of paintings celebrate the lighter side of life. The format
borrows the concept from children’s flashcards, creating a fun representation of
some of the artist’s favorite things in life. Each painting has an “under painting”
(literally) that has some sort of tie to the main subject of each painting. Not
only does the under painting add to the visible painting by adding depth and
texture, it represents the many layers, or facets, that each of us as have within
ourselves. No person is only the layer visible to the eye, but a culmination of all
our experiences, thoughts, and moods we each have within. These paintings
also remind us to enjoy the little things in life; some are the things we loved as
children, some of the things we have grown to love as adults.
Each 3’x4’ painting is acrylic paint & mixed medium on canvas.
A Full Deck of Flashcards from the series will be available at the completion of
the series, as will the purchase of the individual paintings.
Presently, prints and cards are available for purchase in various sizes.
